This blog is dedicated to promoting my favourite photographers that I have discovered whilst writing kisses and cross stitches. If you use any photographs from this blog, please link to the photographers and their own sites

Katrin Braga

Katrin Braga is an Icelandic model and photographer who shoots her beautiful friends in breathtaking surroundings. All of her work is shot on 35mm film, producing unpredictably beautiful photographs, with stunning vivid colours and excellent use of natural light. Katrin inspires to learn more about photography and experiment with digital and film, so expect even greater things in the future!

Which of your own photographs is your favourite?

This one: (above) I love the story behind that picture. I dared her to go into the ice cold water for me (thank god it was sunny outside) and she was just making her hair wet in that exact moment. No posing involved. I love capturing moments like that.

What got you into photography?

I don't really know. I just got sucked into it. And I love it.

Who are your favourite photographers?

Too many. Alison Scarpulla, Viktor Vauthier, David Hamilton and I recently started to adore Cindy Sherman.

Who or what would you most like to photograph?

I want to bring Vivan Leigh back from the dead and take pictures of her. And I wouldn't mind to take pictures of Morrissey.

What are your ambitions with regards to your photography?

Go to school and learn all the stuff I want to learn. I aim high, so I want to shoot for my favorite magazines. I also want to learn how to shoot music videos and maybe movies.

What were you like as a child?

Weird and nerdy. People made fun of the way I dressed, but I didn't care.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a chocolatier, how crazy that sounds. I loved chocolate so much and I wanted to eat it everyday (and I still want that).

What, or who inspires you?

Music, friends, fashion, people and the nature. But music is one of the best inspiration that I can find. And I recently met Jim Jarmusch and he is a big inspiration. His movies are crazy.

What are your favourite blogs?
I have many favorite blogs. I love http://viktorvautier.blogspot.com/ for instant inspiration, http://www.thestylerookie.com/ to know more about the adorable Tavi and http://www.fashiontoast.com/ to envy Rumi's life.

Who is your favourite author?
I can't pick between my favorites so I have to say Jane Austen for Pride and Prejudice, Anthony Burgess for A Clockwork Orange and J.R.R. Tolkien for his adventurous world of hobbits and elves.

Where did you grow up?
I grew in the small town called Fellabær on the eastern side of Iceland. Population about 500, my favorite town in the world - so beautiful. I lived with my grandparents and I could say that they raised me up. And I'm so thankful for that.

What music do you listen to?

I listen to all sorts of music. But recently I've been kinda "old school", listening to great singers like Al Bowlly, Louis Prima and Jacques Brel. That kind of music has soul. Unlike some of the music that's popular today.

What cameras do you use?
I use my old Konica FT-1 film camera the most and sometimes I shoot with my Kodak point-and-shoot camera. I recently got a Canon 550D and i'm still learning about the world of digital photography.
